Catastrophes Domestiques Nº 1: Flyrony
Catastrophes Domestiques takes a look at our emissions culture from a more tangible, gaseous point of view, from a domestic scale. A series of low-tech experiments and electrochemical and electro-mechanical hacks that détourne ordinary electronic appliances. Liberated from their dull servile life as domestic products, the objects are transformed, given a new role, spewing out the emissions that went into their production, endlessly stuck in a loop in the brief moment before impending disaster.
Concieved and prototyped during a TAQ residency at the Gaité Lyrique / CNAM Paris. First exhibited at "élaircies", Le Quai, Angers.
